The Ospreys will soon return to the North Fork. The Ospreys baseball team, that is. Host families are needed for the players. If you can provide a bed and bath for a team member this summer, please contact Joe Finora at 298-4086. Many local families enjoyed watching the team compete in a family-friendly environment at Tasker Park last summer. Consider hosting one of these fine young men in your home and join the Osprey family!

Do you plan to travel soon? Have you just returned from a vacation? The “Traveler’s Suitcase” on the upper level of the library contains brochures and maps for your next journey. If you have any travel brochures you’d like to donate for others’ reference, stop by the library and they’ll be gratefully accepted.

The SHS Class of 1970 is planning a reunion for the weekend of Sept. 25-26, to coincide with the Maritime Festival. One of the highlights will be a cruise on the Peconic Star. Classmates from near and far are encouraged to contact Robin Pugsley via Facebook or e-mail at [email protected]

Another young life was taken from us much too soon this past week. Jeff Hunter passed away suddenly, but not without leaving his family and friends with some great memories. Sincere sympathy to his family.
