Irene Rutkoski

Irene Rutkoski of Mattituck died May 6 at her home May 6. She was 82.

She was born Feb. 7, 1928, in Greenport to Henry Sarnowski and Bertha (Cain) Macwiejczyk. She graduated from Southold High School.

On Oct. 26, 1952, she married Edward Rutkoski in Cutchogue.

She enjoyed baking, knitting, gardening, traveling, spending time with her family and cooking for everybody. She had a big heart and took care of many of her family and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband in 1993 and her son, Paul, in 1987.

Ms. Rutkoski is survived by her children Judy (Bill) Barker of Mattituck and Laura Moore of Cutchogue; and grandchildren Lyndsey Dimon and Michael Wall, both of Mattituck.

Family received visitors May 10 at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue. Funeral services were held May 11 at Our Lady of Ostrabrama R.C. Church in Cutchogue. Interment followed at Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery, also in Cutchogue.
