Edward D. Fish of Mattituck, formerly of East Patchogue, died at home on May 27. He was 88.
Mr. Fish was born July 5, 1921, in Staten Island. He married his wife, Marguerite, on Christmas Eve 1941. They were married for 59 years until her death in 2001.
He served with the Navy during World War II and later worked for New York Telephone Company for 33 years. He was a long-standing member of the Communication Workers of America union and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Fish is survived by his sons, Wayne, of Mastic Beach, and Gary, of Mattituck; loving daughter-in-law, Carol, of Calais, Vt., who cared for him during his illness; former daughter-in-law Terry, of Mastic; loving sister-in-law of 70 years, Amelita “Lee” Bagnato of Arizona; grandchildren Craig Fish, Patricia Reeve, Mandy Burkett, Kevin Fish and Samuel Fish; and great-grandchildren Travis Burkett, Samantha Burkett, Jake and Ava Fish, and Colin Reeve.
Cremation was private. Mr. Fish will be interred at Calverton National Cemetery.
