Southold High School’s seniors dismantled and then reassembled this old car in the second floor library overnight Tuesday.

Senior pranks are not unusual, but Southold High School seniors outdid themselves this year, taking apart an old car and putting it back together in the second-floor school library overnight Tuesday. ‘It’s incredible; it’s ingenious,’ Superintendent David Gamberg said. ‘These are kids who used their minds.’ He noted that the students placed the car on a plastic sheet to avoid damaging carpeting in the library. The whole senior class was in on the prank, but eight students were responsible for carrying out the mission. Mr. Gamberg says he hasn’t yet decided who will be responsible for the car’s removal.
