Scholarship winners were Caty Austin, Emily Ianno, Chelsea Ficner, Dan Letteriello, Colin McCoy, Shelby Davis, Danielle Grim, Ashley Finger, Nick Troisi and Theresa Zuhoski. Congratulations and best wishes.

Ashley Finger is having a very good year. Congratulations!

Linda and Henry Kozen will toast 44 years of wedded bliss on June 12. May the years ahead continue to be filled with love and all good things that life has to offer.

Birthday wishes go out this week to Jeff Smith and Mike Lentini on June 4; Cory Dolson on the 6th; Anne Smith and June Schait on the 7th; and Philip Neudeck on the 9th.

Belated birthday wishes go to Christian Montgomery, who turned 14 on May 24.

MHS junior Marissa Russo has been selected to attend Girl’s State, an American Legion-sponsored program. She’ll meet the other Suffolk County participants at a tea on June 6, and at the end of the month she’ll join hundreds of girls from across the state at SUNY/Brockport for a week of learning about the process of government.

Six MHS students are nominated for Teeny Awards (like the Tony Awards) for their roles in the school production of “The Curious Savage:” Nick Grinere (lead actor in a comedy); Cara Slotkin (lead actress in a comedy); Madeline Burlingame and Zoe Campbell (supporting actress in a comedy); Sara Conklin (outstanding performance in a comedy); and Cassie Brown (playbill cover/poster art). A red carpet walk kicks things off at 2 p.m. and the ceremony runs from 3 to 5 p.m., with guest presenters and performances by nominees. Tickets are available for $20 at the East End Arts Council or online at eastendarts.org, All proceeds support the Teeny Awards.
