Charges against several defendants were dismissed in Southold Justice Court Friday because Suffolk County grand juries brought indictments against them, moving their cases out of the local court. All will face later court dates in criminal court in Riverhead.

The court dismissed:

* Charges of third-degree and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance against Sonya Smith, 45, of Greenport.

* The charge of driving while intoxicated against Robert Jessup, 62, of Laurel.

* A second-degree charge of driving while ability impaired on drugs against Janessa Andruski, 27, of Southold.

In a session that dealt with 83 cases, Judge William Price Jr. issued warrants for the arrests of two people who failed to show up for their court dates:

* Jan Hajek, 56, of Cutchogue, charged with aggressive DWI.

* Mario Ochoa-Morales, 39, of Peconic, missing since May from a Treatment Alternatives for Safer Communities program to which he had been assigned following a DWI conviction.

* Cedric Davis, 26, of Greenport pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana and was fined $225.

* Mary Ellen Seekamp, 55, of Northport was placed on probation for one year after she pleaded guilty to petit larceny. If she successfully completes her probation, Judge Price said he would reduce the charge to disorderly conduct.

* Emmanuel Torres, 26, of Greenport received an adjournment for one year in contemplation of dismissing a charge of possession of marijuana.

* Scott Genereux, 47, of Boca Raton, Fla., received an adjournment for six months in contemplation of dismissing a charge of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
