Joseph C. Falleti

Mattituck resident Joseph C. Falleti died July 1 at his home. He was 83.

He was born Jan. 18, 1927, to Carmelo and Annunziata (Calabro) Falleti in Reggio Calabria, Italy, where he was raised and completed high school. He came to the United States in 1947 and married Lillian Francesconi in New Jersey on Jan. 6, 1951.

Mr. Falleti was a self-employed mason for over 30 years. A member of Sacred Heart Parish in Cutchogue, he enjoyed fishing, gardening and hunting, according to his family.

He is survived by his wife; his daughters, Carmen Hudson of Mattituck and Nancy Palombini of Cliffside Park, N.J.; and five grandchildren.

Family members received visitors July 5 at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck, where prayer services were conducted that evening by Deacon Jeff Sykes of Sacred Heart Parish. The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated July 6 at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church in Mattituck by Father Joseph Staudt with assistance from the Ministry of Consolation. Interment followed at Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery in Cutchogue.
