Roy Namiotka

Roy “Smith” Namiotka of Jamesport died at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead on Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010, at the age of 81.

He was born in Riverhead on Oct. 21, 1928, to Joseph and Magdelena (nà e Doroski) Namiotka and was a resident of Jamesport for the past 51 years.

Roy was a retired transportation foreman with the Riverhead Central School District and a longtime Riverhead Raceway driver.

Predeceased by his wife, Mary (nà e MacAslan) in 1974, he leaves his children, Cathy Mangiamele, Jo-Anne Miller, Linda Reyer and Peggy; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family received friends on Sept. 28 at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. Interment was on Sept. 29 at Jamesport Cemetery.
