Cops: Cutchogue girl fled scene of DWI crash

A young woman from Cutchogue was charged with DWI in East Quogue Wednesday afternoon, after Southampton Town Police said she fled the scene of an accident.
Rebecca Anne Abatelli, 19, was involved in the accident at the intersection of Montauk Highway and Jones Road just after 2:30 p.m., according to police reports. She was stopped by police a short distance from the scene, where police said they determined she was intoxicated. She was taken to Southampton Town Police Headquarters in Hampton Bays and held for a morning arraignment.
