Timothy J. Sloate

Timothy John Sloate of Kensington, Md., passed away suddenly on Aug. 24, 2010, leaving his wife of 15 years, Hillary Chisholm Sloate, and his daughters, Lily and Rosemary. He will be deeply missed by his parents, Patricia and Harry Sloate of East Falmouth, Mass.; his brothers, Harry and Kevin; sisters, Lori and Lisa; in-laws, Joan and Joseph Chisholm of Laurel; sisters-in-law Stephanie, Lauren, Jeannine, Lisa and Trish; and his brother-in-law, Jesse Morgan; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Tim was the director of research at the University Professional and Continuing Education Association in Washington, D.C. Formerly, he was director of administration for the environmental health department at Harvard’s School of Public Health. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Vermont and a Masters of Education from Harvard University.

Tim will be remembered for his sharp wit, love of Boston sports teams and a selfless, affable personality with outstanding dedication to family life.

A memorial Mass was held on Aug. 28, 2010, at Holy Cross Church, Kensington, Md. Memorial donations may be made in the name of Hillary Sloate for the Timothy J. Sloate Memorial Fund, c/o SunTrust Bank, 3740 University Blvd. West, Kensington, MD 20895.
