String of DWI arrests over holiday weekend

Labor Day revelers who tanked up before getting behind the wheel were nabbed all over Southold Town this weekend, according to police reports.
An arachnophobic passenger who screamed when she thought she saw a spider on her lap alerted Southold Town Police to the car’s intoxicated driver in Mattituck at about 2:30 a.m. Monday, according to police reports. Angela Kontogiannis, 32, of Bayside, was arrested for DWI after police responded to screams coming from a car stopped on Route 25 and reportedly determined that she was intoxicated.
Joni Dominick, 50, of Greenport was arrested for DWI on Saturday night after a car she was driving reportedly struck two parked cars on Main Street in Greenport. Police said that she was apprehended after attempting to leave the scene with a blown-out front tire and damage to the front end of her car. She was also charged with leaving the scene of an accident, a seat belt violation and with failure to maintain her lane of travel.
Efrain Garcia, 25, of Greenport was arrested for DWI after he was pulled over for a traffic violation at the intersection of 3rd and Front Street Monday night.
Antonio Saenz, 51, of Southold was also arrested for DWI on Monday night, after police responded to a call of an erratic driver on Boisseau Avenue in Southold. Mr. Saenz also reportedly had an active bench warrant from the Suffolk County Court.
Nick Fusco, 41, of Rocky Point, was arrested for DWI on Monday evening, after police said he ran a stop sign at the intersection of Love Lane and Pike Street in Mattituck. Mr. Fusco was also charged with a violation for driving with a suspended license.
Jeanne Ruland, 49, of Mattituck was charged with DWI after she was involved in a car accident on Route 48 on Saturday afternoon.  She was held overnight for arraignment.
Kevin D. Browne, 46, of Aquebogue was arrested for DWI on the evening of September 2 after police responded to a call of an erratic driver on Factory Avenue in Mattituck. Mr. Browne was reportedly found in his car with the engine running in the parking lot of the Mattituck Plaza shopping center. He was held overnight for arraignment.
