WORTH NOTING Boogie down at Big Duck

Everyone’s invited to Big Duck Ranch on Route 24 in Flanders on Saturday, Sept. 11, for a ‘Bluegrass and Big Duck Country’ music festival and farmer’s market.

The many performers will include Caroline Doctorow and the Steamrollers, Warren McKnight ‘The Strolling Banjo,’ Clean Break, Ken ‘The Rocket’ Korb and the Red River Ramblers, Ron Rothman and Job Potter, North Fork Lisa and Shari Yeomans and Boot Scoot Boogie. Bob Aldrich of WLNG radio will M.C.

Feast on homestyle southern barbecue from Maple Tree Gourmet Caterers, hear the debut of the tune that wins the Big Duck songwriting competition and enjoy displays of local produce and agricultural products, plus gate prizes, giveaways and raffles.

The fun begins at 10 a.m. and runs until 5 p.m. Tickets — $25 for adults, $12.50 for seniors and students, kids under 5 free — are available at Maple Tree Gourmet Caterers in Riverhead, Rothman’s in Southold and Hampton Music in Hampton Bays.
