GARRET MEADE PHOTO Ryan Malone ran for three touchdowns and 148 yards as the Porters spoiled Bishop McGann-Mercy's homecoming.

With less than five minutes remaining on the clock and the game long since decided against his side, a witty Bishop McGann-Mercy Monarchs fan was heard chanting: “We have Jesus! We have Jesus!”

Saturday was homecoming day at Bishop McGann-Mercy High School, but the person who might have felt the most at home was Malone, the Porters’ talented junior. Malone galloped for three touchdowns and 148 yards from 14 carries — all in the first half — as the Porters walloped the Monarchs, 55-8, in a Suffolk County Division IV football game at Harold T. Murray Memorial Field.
