Emily Kosciuszko

Longtime Cutchogue resident Emily Kosciuszko of Greenport died Nov. 19. She was 92.
Born Oct. 16, 1918, in East Marion to Stanley and Bertha (Gawelko) Czelatka, she was raised on the family farm in Peconic and attended Peconic School.
In August 1938, she married Edward Kosciuszko. She worked on the family farm and later for Hazeltine Electric in Riverhead.
She enjoyed gardening and bus trips with friends, and was a member of the Mattituck Seniors.
Predeceased by her husband and siblings Helen Gawelko, Stella Schaefer, Henry, Edward, Albert and Antone Czelatka, Ms. Kosciuszko is survived by her children, Patricia Brown of Mattituck, Robert, of Cutchogue, and Steven, of Florida; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family received visitors Nov. 21 at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue. Funeral services were held Nov. 22 at Our Lady of Ostrabrama R.C. Church in Cutchogue. Interment followed at Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery, Cutchogue.
