Ruth A. Schumann

Ruth A. Schumann of Mattituck died Nov. 25 at her home. She was 77.

She was born Oct. 18, 1933, in Hackensack, N.J., to Donald Hall and Mary Alice (Lawlar) McEwan.
Ms. Schumann worked as a secretary for the Brentwood School District.

Predeceased by her son, Robert, in 1990, she is survived by her husband, Eugene;  her children, Evelyn Consessore and Eugene Jr., both of East Northport, and Richard, of England; her sister, Ronnie Sheehan of East Meadow; and eight grandchildren.

Private cremation and arrangements were handled by DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck.

  • Fines “levied” are up. Fines collected are down. The goal of the prosecutors is to levy fines, not get property into compliance. There is much less effort going toward ensuring properties are improved than ever before.

  • Please come to Mastic and Mastic Beach where there are illegal 2,3,4 family houses all over with absentee landlords, plus illegal basement appartments all over. I have neighbors on all side of me that rent illegal and have illegal above ground pools as well, for years. I have wrote and mailed my complaints with out anyone even coming by to inspect. The IRS would have a field day in Mastic and Shirley with all the unreported CASH flow from Illegal rentals.
