Gerard M. Lang

Gerard M. Lang of Southold died on Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport. He was 88 years old.

“Bud” was born in Brooklyn on Sept. 21, 1922, to August and Amelia Lang and married the former Marilyn K. Noonan in Bellmore on May 16, 1931. He later served in the United States Army during the Battle of the Bulge.

Formerly of Seaford, he moved to the North Fork eight years ago and was a real estate broker with Marilyn K. Lang in Cutchogue.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn K. Lang; three children, Geralyn Wieser of Cutchogue, Scott Lang of Loveland, Ohio, and Cori Lang of Southold; two brothers, the Rev. Henry A. Lang of Bayside, Queens, and August Lang of Sevierville, Tenn.; and four grandchildren, Allison, Brian, Tyler and Ashley.

Calling hours took place Sunday, Dec. 5, at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold. The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, Dec. 6, at St. Patrick R.C. Church in Southold by the Rev. Peter Garry. Interment was at the Presbyterian Cemetery with prayers by the Rev. Dr. Peter J. Kelley and military honors rendered by the U.S. Army.
