Art Beat: ‘Main Street, Suffolk County” exhibit extended until Feb. 12

• The Oysterponds Community Association will present a cello and piano concert at Poquatuck Hall in Orient Saturday, Dec. 18, at 5 p.m. Cellist Andrew Smith and pianist Alexandria Le will perform Suite Italienne by Stravinsky, Rhapsody for Violoncello and Piano by Ginastera and Sonata for Violoncello and Piano in G Minor by Rachmaninov. A donation of $10 is suggested.

• Southold poet Tim Wood will read his poetry from ‘Otherwise Known as Home’ at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, at Floyd Memorial Library in Greenport.

• The documentary ‘Free Swim’ by Long Island director Jennifer Galvin will be shown at Central Gallery in Southold Saturday, Dec. 18. An opening reception begins at 7, followed by the film at 7:30. The documentary follows Ms. Galvin’s efforts to help a group of children on the island of Eleuthera learn to swim. It’s presented in conjunction with the Maritime Film Festival hosted by the East End Seaport Museum. Ms. Galvin will be on hand to take questions after the screening; still photographs related to the film also will be displayed.

Editor’s Note: The screening of ‘Free Swim’ has been canceled.

• ‘Main Street, Suffolk County,’ a juried photography exhibition at Suffolk County Historical Society in Riverhead, has been extended through Feb. 12, 2011.
