Achievements

• Airman First Class Matthew Wilsberg graduated last month from U.S. Air Force basic military training. The son of Paul and Donna Wilsberg of Mattituck, he received a bachelor’s degree in fire science administration from the University of New Haven and will pursue his fire-fighting career at Mountain Home AFB in Idaho.

• Lia Benedetto, a 2007 graduate of Mattituck High School, recently graduated with honors from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y., with a bachelor’s degree in baking and pastry arts management. She also graduated as a member of the Eta Sigma Delta international honor society. She is employed as a pastry cook at The River Café, under the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City.
