The Southold High School boys basketball team could clinch a second straight playoff berth tonight with a home win over The Ross Ravens. The game will start at 6:30 p.m.

Southold (8-7, 6-5 in Suffolk County League VIII) has three games remaining in which to pick up the one win it needs to return to the postseason. After tonight’s game, the First Settlers will play at The Stony Brook School (11-2, 10-1) on Monday and then host Bridgehampton (2-13, 2-9) on Wednesday night.

The First Settlers could have booked their place in the playoffs with a win at Shelter Island on Tuesday night, but the Indians surprised them with a 49-45 upset, snapping a 12-game losing streak. In that game, Winston Wilcenski (20 points) and Alex Conway (11 points, 10 rebounds) were the only Southolders to score in double figures. Alex Sinclair had nine points and eight rebounds. But Shelter Island outscored Southold, 10-2, at the end of the game to win it.

While Southold has lost its last two games, Ross (7-7, 6-5) is coming off a 63-49 win over the Bridgehampton Killer Bees on Tuesday.
