A Greenport man, who had been arrested on a drunk driving charge before, was charged with DWI in Southold Sunday morning.
Michael Patrick Carrig, 45, was charged with felony DWI just after 10 a.m. after he was stopped by police for driving with a suspended registration on Route 48, according to police reports.
Police said that Mr. Carrig smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes and failed several field sobriety tests. Police said that Mr. Carrig was also driving with a revoked license. In addition to the felony DWI charge, he was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a felony, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and with an open container violation.
