Southold Police Report

Clint Marczewski, 36, of Greenport was arrested by Southold Police at 2:35 p.m. Sunday on Route 25 and Pipes Neck Road in Greenport and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police said Mr. Marczewski had an envelope containing heroin and drug paraphernalia. He was released on an undisclosed amount of bail for a later trial date. Police didn’t say why they initially had stopped Mr. Marczewski.

* A 22-year-old Mattituck man was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated following an accident on Route 25 in Cutchogue at 3:22 a.m. Sunday. Police said Justin Wadelton’s 1995 Oldsmobile struck a utility pole after the vehicle crossed into the eastbound lane and left the roadway. The vehicle landed on its side, according to police. Mr. Wadelton was held for arraignment.

* Police from the bomb disposal unit removed a live round of ammunition from property at 3210 Little Neck Road, Cutchogue, after owner William Schwartz, 65, reported that the military issue ordnance had been given to him about 10 years ago and he was concerned it might be hazardous. Nothing in the digital images indicated that the ammunition was inert, police said. They removed the round in their specially designed bomb disposal trailer and took it to the Westhampton bomb range for disposal.

* Todd Gregory, 42, of Port Jefferson was arrested outside Colonial Drug Store on Front Street in Greenport a 11:35 a.m. Friday on a charge of petit larceny. Police said Mr. Gregory was observed by the store owner shoplifting several items. He was held for arraignment.

* Tiffany Wilcox, 20, of Greenport was arrested on a charge of criminal mischief on Front Street and Fourth Avenue in the village at 9:15 p.m. Friday following a dispute with another party, police said. Ms. Wilcox is accused of grabbing the door handle of the other person’s vehicle and then punching the vehicle so that it was damaged, according to the report.

* A passenger in a 2008 Toyota SUV was injured in a motor vehicle accident after the driver fell asleep at the wheel of her vehicle while driving on Route 25 in Greenport near Dolphin Drive at 1 p.m. Sunday and struck a utility pole. Passenger Julliette Liegey, 11, address unavailable, was a passenger in the vehicle driven by Jeanne Marie Caufield, 51, of Greenport. Ms. Liegey was transported to Eastern Long Island Hospital.

* Laura Navas, 39, of East Hampton was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center following a motor vehicle accident on Skunk Lane at Pine Tree Road in Cutchogue at 8:09 a.m. Wednesday, May 19. Ms. Navas told police she felt dizzy before the accident and apparently passed out before her 2008 Toyota SUV struck a utility pole.

* A Third Street, Greenport, woman reported the theft from her home of a Canon camera and a red duffle bag and black computer bag containing credit cards and checks. The report was made to police on May 16 and the woman said she thought the theft had occurred between 9:30 and 10 p.m. the previous night.

* The owner of Kharma, a clothing store on Main Street in Greenport, reported to police May 19 that a lock box containing $500 in cash was missing. Linda Gerien told police she thought it might have been taken between 6 p.m. May 15 and 6 p.m. May 16.

* A Highland Road, Cutchogue, home¬­owner reported graffiti on his home that he said had appeared sometime between 8 p.m. May 19 and 7:46 a.m. the following morning, when he reported it to police. The words “You Got Mail” were spray-painted on a mailbox and “Bravo” on an outdoor electric service box, police said.

Those who are named in police reports have not been convicted of any crime or violation. The charges against them may later be reduced or withdrawn, or they may be found innocent.
