Cops: Unlicensed Greenport man overturns truck after hitting pole

A Greenport man, who was allegedly driving with a suspended license, crashed a pickup truck into a utility pole and overturned several times on Route 48 in Southold Sunday evening, according to Southold Town Police.

Mario Osorio, 19, was thrown from his 1996 Ford pickup truck after losing control while driving west on Route 48 between Kenny’s Road and Tuckers Lane just after 7:30 p.m., police said. The Southold Fire Department Rescue Squad responded and took Mr. Osorio to Peconic Bay Medical Center for treatment of undisclosed injuries.

Mr. Osorio was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
