For nearly 19 years, Southold Historical Society’s education of youth committee has offered programs for local elementary school students at Horton Point Lighthouse and the society’s Main Road complex. Each year, nearly 1,000 children learn about Southold’s rich history through these programs. Volunteers are currently needed. No special talent is required, just an interest in enriching the lives of youngsters. Call Cheryle Amara at 765-1972 or Peggy Murphy at 765-3598 if you’re interested.
