Stefanie Putre

Stefanie Putre of Greenport died on Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011. She was 87 years old.

She was born in Wolfsberg, Austria, on December 23, 1923, to Sofie (née Unegg) and Franz Rosenfelder.

A Greenport resident for the past nine years, she attended the Southold Senior Center, where she enjoyed playing bingo and Rummikub with her many friends there.

Predeceased by her husband, Alois Putre, in 1992 and her son, Karl-Heinz Unegg, in 2009, she leaves her daughters, Maria E. Zananski of Bloomingburg, N.Y., and Linda M. Tonyes (Edwin A.) of Greenport; four grandchildren, Amanda Diller, Adam Zananski, Sarah Zananski and Eric Tonyes; and a great-granddaughter, Rebecca Diller.

The family received friends at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold, where parish prayer services were conducted on Tuesday, April 26. The Liturgy of Christian Burial was scheduled for Wednesday, April 27, at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church in Greenport by Father Kenneth Hand.
