Maurice K. O’Connell

Maurice K. O’Connell of Mattituck died in Riverhead on May 15, 2011. He was 85 years old.

He was born in Brooklyn, New York, on July 17, 1925, to Margaret (née King) and Maurice O’Connell. After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, he married Estelle Kaloski in Cutchogue on November 29, 1958.

Formerly of Queens, they have lived on the North Fork for the past 17 years. Mr. O’Connell had retired from General Electric.

He is survived by his wife, Estelle; three children, Leslie (Joe) Esposito, Kathleen (Steve) Pritchard and Parnell O’Connell; and three grandchildren, Joe, Steve and Morgan Pritchard. He was predeceased by two sisters.

Calling hours were set for Wednesday, May 18, at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, May 19, at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Ostrabrama R.C. Church, Cutchogue, by Father Marian Bicz. Interment, with U.S. Army honors, will follow at Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery in Cutchogue.
