Cops: Two arrested on PCP charge; DWI and possession charge for Greenport man

Two arrested on PCP charge

Two people who were caught with PCP face criminal drug possession charges in Southold Town this week, according to Southold Town Police.

Police said they stopped a car driven by Jessica M. Chmielewski, 24, of Aquebogue while she was driving on Peconic Bay Boulevard in Mattituck about 11:15 a.m. Friday. Police said that both Ms. Chmielewski and her passenger, Willie E. Bryant, 30, of Riverhead, were in possession of PCP. Police also charged Ms. Chmielewski with driving while under the influence of the drug.

They were both taken to Southold Police headquarters and held for arraignment.

DWI, possession charge for Greenport man

A 47-year-old Greenport man was charged with DWI and criminal possession of a controlled substance just before 11 p.m. Friday, after he was stopped by town police for failing to signal before making a turn on 2nd Street in Greenport.

Police said that in addition to being intoxicated, Vincent Smith had a white rock-like substance that tested positive for cocaine in his car. Mr. Smith was taken to police headquarters and held for arraignment.
