Denis E. Amiaga

Denis E. Amiaga of Southold and New Milford, N.J., died on June 12, 2011, in Stony Brook. He was 70 years old.

Mr. Amiaga was born in Weehawken, N.J., on April 26, 1941, to John and Erna (née Kerber) Amiaga. He was a retired chemical engineer with Pfister Chemical in Ridgefield, N.J., and he enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Marina (née Padovani), and children, Christopher Amiaga of Butler, N.J., and Laura Ashtyani of Mahwah, N. J.; a brother, Walter Amiaga of Paramus, N.J., and three grandchildren, Emma, Cyrus and Lilah. He was predeceased by a brother, Gilbert Amiaga.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 18, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hawthorne Gospel Church, 2000 State Route 208 N., Hawthorne, NJ 07506 with Reverend John Minnema officiating. Arrangements are being handled by DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Homes.
