Mattituck resident William James Parker Jr. died July 15 at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. He was 90.
He was born May 21, 1921, in Hempstead to William and Jane Parker. He lived in Huntington Station before moving to Mattituck. He worked as a nursery inspector for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Predeceased by his wife, Shirley, in 1998, Mr. Parker is survived by his daughter, Sandra Moelius of Mattituck; his sister, Doris Goodwin of Indiana; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours were held July 17 at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue. A service, followed by interment, took place July 18 at Calverton National Cemetery.
