Thomas Charles Muchowski

Thomas Charles Muchowski of South Jamesport and New York City died Aug. 10. He was 42 and had been battling mantle cell lymphoma, one of the rarest of the non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas.

Born Jan. 5, 1969, in Southampton, to Casmer and Christine (Kos) Muchowski, he attended the School of Visual Arts in New York City and the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He married Jocelyn Smith in Tortola, British Virgin Islands, in 2001.

Mr. Muchowski worked as a furniture designer. He enjoyed surfing, dirt biking, camping and painting, family members said, and was active in his community garden.

He is survived by his wife; his son, Wiley; his daughter, Maveric, of New York City; his mother, of South Jamesport; his brother, James; and a large extended family. He was predeceased by his father.

A memorial service took place Aug. 14 at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead.
