Tommy Donovan

Tommy Donovan of Cutchogue died suddenly Aug. 28 at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. He was 51 years old.

He was born in Rockville Centre on Feb. 8, 1960, to Thomas and Beth (Sculley) Donovan, and was educated in food services at BOCES. He worked for 17 years at North Fork Country Club in Cutchogue, where he was always eager and willing to perform any task that needed to be done, without having to be told to do so.

Tommy was kind and generous, and loved to help anyone who needed a hand. He was well-liked by all who knew him.

Tommy was passionate about the Yankees, the Islanders and Disney World, but most of all he loved Christmas, and would begin preparing for it in July. He would buy lots of presents for kids in need, which he dropped off at local collection boxes, and showered gifts on his family, friends and colleagues.

Tommy is survived by his parents, of Cutchogue; five siblings, Barbara Mallon, Ellen, Libby, Michael and Colin; and Colin’s wife and son, Kate and Liam.

Visiting hours took place Sept. 1 at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue. Funeral services were held Sept. 2 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Mattituck. Interment was at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Cutchogue.

Memorial donations may be made to AHRC of Nassau County.
