Featured Events: Learn to build a magical fairy house

Want to help out a magical fairy? Why not build them a house?

The Cutchogue-New Suffolk Library, located on Main Road in Cutchogue, will hold a fairy house workshop Thursday from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

Chris Zaneski, the library’s head of circulation, said she decided to hold the workshop after reading “Fairy Houses,” written by Tracy Kane.

Ms. Zanekski said participants will bring in driftwood, stones, sea shells and twigs. But pieces of wood ripped from a live tree or materials purchased in a store won’t do.

“The rules are based on the book,” she said. “Fairies want you to use natural materials found on the ground.”

The workshop is geared toward students in grades 3 to 6. Registration is required.
