Calvert Dooman

Calvert Dooman of Greenport and Delray Beach, Fla., died Oct. 4 at Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport. He was 83.

Born Nov. 7, 1927, in Tokyo, Japan, to Dorothy (Calvert) and Eugene H. Dooman, he attended Kent School in Kent, Conn. He also graduated from Harvard University, cum laude, in 1949 and from New York University in 1955.

Mr. Dooman was a financial analyst for over 40 years, primarily with J&W Seligman and Dominick & Dominick in New York City.

Predeceased by his wife, Julia (née Kayan), in 2009, he is survived by his daughters, Carolyn, of Jamaica Plain, Mass., and Lisanne Hegman of Huntington, Vt.; his sons, Russell, of Woodcliff Lake, N.J., Gregory, of Leesburg, Va., and Philip, of Roselle Park, N.J.; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will take place Sunday, Oct. 16, at 2 p.m. at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Greenport. Arrangements are being handled by Horton-Mathie Funeral Home in Greenport.
