Library ‘friends’ make donation to Cutchogue New Suffolk

Friends president Jackie Rogers, book sale chair Rose Ann Burns, Library Director Neely McCahey with young adult librarian Bonnie Mazzaferro.

The Friends of the Cutchogue New Suffolk Library recently donated $4,350 to the library, proceeds from the annual book sale in August.

Most of the funds will be used to enhance the library’s “teen central” section and the donation also permits the library to purchase two Kindles for cardholders’ use.

“We would like the community and all our wonderful volunteers and supporters to see their efforts at work,” said friends president Jackie Rogers.

Director Neely McCahey said, “We are so excited that the friends decided to focus on our community’s youth. Teens will see fantastic changes in their library teen space as a result of this generous contribution.”

The library friends group is a non-profit association providing assistance  in the development of library services and facilities and to stimulate gifts of library circulation items, endowments, and bequests.  The Friends provides funds each year to underwrite many children’s, teens’ and adult programs at the library, as well as a family pass to Safari Adventure in Riverhead.
