Editorial: One more town candidates debate tonight

Candidates running for town office this year have met face-to-face three times so far, at the Mattituck and North Fork Chamber of Commerce meetings and at a forum jointly sponsored by Orient and East Marion civic associations.

There’s just one more face-off scheduled before the rapidly approaching Nov. 8 elections.

Those seeking the office of supervisor and two town council seats will debate this evening at 7:30 p.m. at Peconic Landing in Greenport. Suffolk Times Editor Tim Kelly will serve as moderator.
