James Frank

Longtime Southold resident James Frank died Nov. 2 at the age of 81.

He was born Feb. 5, 1930, in Manhattan to Christina (Liftariotis) and Nicholas Frangopoulos. He married Ingeborge Babette Fritzsche on Dec. 11, 1955, at Kimisis Greek Orthodox Church in Brooklyn.

He served in the U.S. Army for four years, attaining the rank of private first class, and worked at the Star Luncheonette in Manhattan. Family members said he enjoyed fishing and cooking.

Mr. Frank is survived by his wife, of Southold; his son, Nicholas (Lourdes) Frangopoulos, also of Southold; his daughters, Chris Frank and Tori Franc, both of New Jersey; his sister, Doris Gianiotis of Howard Beach, N.Y.; his brothers, Angelo and Thomas Frank, both of Providence, R.I.; his grandson, Nicholas Frangopoulos of Staten Island; and his granddaughter, Stephanie Frangopoulos of Warwick, N.Y.

Visiting hours took place Nov. 6 at Horton-Mathie Funeral Home in Greenport. A service was held Nov. 7 at St. Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church in Greenport, followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery.
