Joyce E. Ruthinosk

Greenport native Joyce E. Ruthinoski died Nov. 3 at San Simeon by the Sound Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was 82.

Born in Greenport May 5, 1929, to Joseph and Sarah (Franklin) Raynor, she married Henry E. Ruthinoski at Holy Trinity Church in Greenport on Sept. 7, 1947. She had worked as a cashier for the A&P and was a member of the auxiliary of Burton Potter American Legion Post 185 in Greenport.

Ms. Ruthinoski was predeceased by her husband in 2009. She is survived by three children, Henry Jr., of Walterboro, S.C., Kenneth, of Manorville, and Lydia Wells of Greenport; two siblings, Virginia Purcell of Riverhead and Wayne Raynor of Hobe Sound, Fla.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours took place Nov. 7 at Horton-Mathie Funeral Home in Greenport. Funeral services, conducted Nov. 8 by the Rev. Canon Paul Wancura at Holy Trinity Church, were followed by interment at Sterling Cemetery, Greenport.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Legion Burton Potter Post 185 Restoration Fund.
