Anna Kathryn Cottral

Anna Kathryn Cottral died Nov. 4 at her home in Greenport, where she had lived for 48 years. She was 96.

She was born Feb. 28, 1915, in Baker, Mont., to Julia (Bush) and George Colbo. She attended high school in Francesville, Ind., and studied nursing in Miles City, Mont., graduating in 1937.

She married George E. Cottral in Tennessee on Oct. 8, 1938, and was a homemaker for most of her adult life.

Ms. Cottral belonged to Greenport United Methodist Church and was active in its fundraising programs. Family members said she enjoyed sewing, gardening, antiquing and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by her husband in 2004, she is survived by her son, George A., of Apple Valley, Calif.; her daughters, Kae Lieblein and Nancy Blydenburg, both of Greenport; a sister in Bozeman, Mont.; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was also predeceased by three siblings.

Arrangements were handled by Horton-Mathie Funeral Home in Greenport. Interment took place in Battle Creek, Iowa.
