Alfred C. Nelson

Alfred C. Nelson of Cutchogue and Garden City died Sept. 24 after a long illness.

He was the son of Ethel and Gustaf Nelson of Brookfield, Conn., and Garden City. He attended Garden City public schools, graduating in 1952, and Norwich University, where he belonged to Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He graduated as co-valedictorian in 1956 and earned his MBA from Hofstra University in 1968.

Mr. Nelson spent his professional career as a machinery and automobile analyst. He served as president of the Automobile Analysts of New York in 1977 and was elected to the Institutional Investors Best Analysts Team for several years. He was very active in Garden City in such organizations as the Garden City Community Church and the Garden City Community Fund. He also belonged to both the North Fork and the Garden City country clubs.

Mr. Nelson is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jane; his children, Martha Yasso and Douglas; and two grandchildren.
