Marco Borghese, winemaker and owner of Castello di Borghese in Cutchogue, led about a dozen people on a tour of his on-site production facility followed by a wine tasting on Saturday afternoon.

Mr. Borghese and his wife, Ann Marie Borghese, started the tour, called the “Winemaker’s Walk,” about about 9 years ago to attract tourists to the vineyard on the weekends.

The event has gained popularity, and Mr. Borghese now gives tours every Saturday at 1 p.m. from November through May, and every Thursday and Sunday at 1 p.m. from June through October.

The tours are catered to customer’s liking, Mr. Borghese said, but they typically include a stroll past the grapevines and a visit to the vineyard’s fermentation and barrel rooms. The event ends in the winery’s tasting room, where customers receive tasting portions of of three red and three white Castello di Borghese wines.
