Police: Two unlicensed, drunk drivers arrested after Southold car crash

Two unlicensed and allegedly drunk drivers were arrested early Friday after one driver rear-ended the other in Southold, authorities said.

Victor Dubon-Garcia, 24, Greenport was driving a 1995 Honda north on Bayview Road about midnight when he slowed down to stop at the intersection with Main Road, Southold Town Police said. Efrain Garvia, 26, who lives in the same home as Mr. Dubon-Garcia, was traveling behind him in a 1995 Honda and could not stop in time. Mr. Garcia slammed into the other car, police said.

Both men were found to be drunk and it was found that Mr. Garcia had his license suspended due to a prior driving while intoxicated charge. Mr. Dubon-Garcia was charged with felony DWI due to the prior DWI conviction, felony aggravated unlicensed operation of motor vehicle and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Mr. Garcia was charged with DWI and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Neither man was seriously injured in the crash.
