Two North Fork players, Mattituck goalkeeper Austin Scoggin and Southold defender Brian Cassidy, played the final game of their high school careers on Saturday in the Nassau-Suffolk Exceptional Senior Games at Dowling College. They both played in Suffolk County’s 2-2 tie against Nassau County.

Scoggin and Cassidy both started, and Scoggin played the entire game on a perfect day for soccer.

Sean Bingham of Garden City scored the tying goal from a point-blank shot with 12 minutes 25 seconds remaining. No overtime was played.

Scoggin didn’t have much of a chance to stop that shot, nor a penalty kick by Elmont’s Justin Okoro with 26:32 to go.

Suffolk had taken a 2-0 lead through Chris Lange of Half Hollow Hills West and Sam Durkot of Newfield. Lange struck with 1:46 left in the first half, and Durkot’s penalty kick came with 32:48 remaining in the game.

Scoggin stopped about 10 balls.

In the first game of the doubleheader, another Suffolk team defeated Nassau, 2-1.
