John Manfredonia

John Manfredonia, a resident of Peconic Landing in Greenport, died Nov. 28. He was 80.

He was born in Astoria, Queens, on Oct. 6, 1931, to John and Marguerite (Morone) Manfredonia and raised in Astoria and Jackson Heights.

Mr. Manfredonia served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was employed by the Town of North Hempstead and resided in Merrick and New Port Richey, Fla. He married Sharon Miller on April 19, 1995, and had lived at Peconic Landing for six years.

Mr. Manfredonia is survived by his wife; a stepson, David Auld of Franklin Square; two brothers, Victor, of Glen Oaks, Queens, and Robert, of Bayside; and three step-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold. Cremation was private. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Susquehanna, Pa.
