Mattituck 7-Eleven will open next Wednesday

BETH YOUNG PHOTO | The new Mattituck 7-Eleven will finally open its doors Wednesday.

The 7-Eleven in Mattituck will officially open its doors next Wednesday, December 21, according to its owner.

Nine employees have been training in a Southold 7-Eleven the past couple months as the store awaited final approval from Southold Town. The opening of the store was delayed due to concerns over traffic safety work that had not yet been completed by the state DOT.

“We’re glad to be open and our employees are glad to be starting,” store owner Tony Cocheo said Wednesday morning.  “We’re very excited for the potential of the store in Mattituck.”

Mr. Cocheo said he’s gotten a lot of positive feedback about the business’s prospects from customers and friends.

Mr. Cocheo says he expects to the open doors to the franchise store in mid-morning after a standard audit of inventory at 7 a.m.

The store will be fully stocked by Tuesday, he says.
