Woman crashes Jeep into Southold 7-Eleven, breaking window

JENNIFER GUSTAVSON PHOTO | A window pane at 7-Eleven in Southold was cracked shortly before 11 a.m. Monday after a woman crashed her car into the store.

A woman was stopped, looking for change in her car shortly before 11 a.m. Monday when she said she accidentally stepped on the gas in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven in Southold.

Moments later, the woman’s car crashed into the building, smashing one of five window panes in the front of the store.

Easing the blow somewhat was a stack of Hot Sticks logs displayed in the front walkway that acted as a buffer between her Jeep Commander and the 7-Eleven.

No injuries resulted from the crash and the woman was able to back her car up into a parking spot.
