Southold-Peconic: Cub Scouts to host spaghetti dinner/chinese auction Jan. 21

Southold High School’s music department will present a Small Ensembles concert and auction on Tuesday, Jan. 24. The auction begins at 7 p.m. and the concert follows at 7:30 p.m. Auction proceeds will support the ensemble in competition in Hershey, Pa., in June.

Southold Elementary School’s winter concert will be held Thursday, Jan. 26, at 7 p.m. in the district auditorium. The Music Boosters will be selling flowers, hats, gloves and T-shirts to benefit the music department.

It may only be January, but the Relay for Life committee is planning ahead with a fundraiser, “Uncork the Cure,” at Bedell Cellars this Friday, Jan. 20, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased at Suffolk County National Bank in Cutchogue. Guests (21 and over) will enjoy wine, light fare and music by Points East. The snow date is Jan. 27.

Roman Wilinski’s grandchildren Connor, Carley, Logan, Tristan, Kyle and Aaron would like to wish their Poppy a very happy birthday on Jan. 20. They also wish a happy anniversary to Grandma (Cathy) and Poppy, who will celebrate their 40th on Jan. 22.

Ed and Sandy Graham recently hosted friends for a brunch honoring the birthdays of Carol Bohn and Dot Mulhall. The group had a fun time singing and window washing. (You’ll have to ask Sandy about that one!)

Happy birthday to Julie Allen, Terry Siejka and Beth Wineberger, all on Jan. 20; Dan Tuthill on the 21st; and Kristine Smith on the 24th.

Reminder: The Cub Scouts of Pack 6 will host their 10th annual spaghetti dinner and chinese auction this Saturday, Jan. 21, 5 to 8 p.m. at the Southold American Legion. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids.

Middle school students of the month are Mert Altintoprak, technology; Emma Alvarez, English; Estuardo Chenal, science; Owen Klipstein, physical education; Althea Mignone, social studies; Jamie Molnar, foreign language; Sean Okula, family and consumer science; and Emily Perry, art.

SHS students Rafael Campos and Chrissy Papot were recognized for Random Acts of Kindness. Congratulations!

Future Cheerleaders Camp will be held Saturday, Jan. 28, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. in the SHS gym. All students in grades K-8 are invited to participate. The cost is $30, which includes a snack and drink. Register by Jan. 20 by contacting Melissa Wilcenski at [email protected] Participants will cheer with the Southold varsity cheerleaders at the Settlers’ home game on Jan. 31 at 6:15 p.m.
