William Edgar Worthington III

Former Mattituck resident William Edgar Worthington III died Dec. 30, 2011, at his home in Bowling Green, Ky. He was 40.

He was born Aug. 16, 1971, in Mattituck to Geraldine and William Edgar Worthington Jr. He had a passion for working with wood, designing and building anything from furniture to birdhouses, according to family members. He also loved the great outdoors, they said.

He is survived by his daughter, Kallie, of Mount Sterling, Ky.; his mother and stepfather, Geraldine and Frank Wanser of New Hampshire; and his sisters, Wendy Davis of Cutchogue and Laura Nabrezny of Riverhead. He was predeceased by his father.

A private graveside service will be held at Cutchogue Cemetery.

Arrangements were handled by Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue.
