Through the combined efforts of Southold Junior-Senior High School’s shared decision making committee, the Southold PTA, and the Student Council, the French film “Of Gods and Men” will be presented Friday evening, Feb. 3, at 7 p.m. in the district auditorium. Admission is free. Nonperishable food items will be collected to benefit local food pantries. All are welcome to attend this culturally enriching event.

Kayleigh Macchirole, granddaughter of former Southold residents Kay and Tom Byrnes, achieved her personal best time of 1:18:06 during the Metropolitan Championships at the Armory in Manhattan last weekend. Kayleigh is a freshman at Wagner College and a member of the school’s track team.

The Southold Schools Garden Project will hold a pot luck dinner Tuesday, Feb. 7, at 6 p.m. in the elementary cafeteria. Anyone interested in helping with the garden is invited. If your last name begins with A-K, please bring an appetizer or side dish to serve 6 to 8 people. Those whose last names start with L-Z can bring a main dish or dessert. Social worker Jillian Ruroede is still collecting gently used semi-formal and formal dresses for Greenport High School’s prom boutique. Dresses can be dropped off at the guidance office during school hours. For more information call 477-1950, ext. 220.

Don’t forget the dress boutique on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 4-6 p.m., in the NJROTC room at Greenport School. Any North Fork student needing a dress for the Military Ball or an upcoming semi-formal is welcome. The dresses are free.

The Southold Garden Club purchased evergreens last year for the area near the Traveler Street train station, and Pine Oaks Landscaping generously donated the manpower to plant them. Now it seems that an anonymous person or group took the time to weed this area, Whoever you are, thanks so much!

All types of blood are needed at the Town of Southold’s blood drive on Wednesday, Feb. 1, from 2:15 to 8:15 p.m. at the Southold Fire Department. Those who donate during dinnertime will enjoy a complimentary spaghetti dinner.
