Kenneth John Rishe

Kenneth John Rishe died on February 15, 2012, at Rideout Memorial Hospital, Marysville, California. His wife and family were at his bedside. After cremation, a private memorial Mass was celebrated, according to his wishes.

Mr. Rishe was born in Ogdensburg, New York, Feb. 3, 1930, and graduated high school from St. Mary’s Academy.

After studying nursing at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center, Ken worked in New York City and received his Masters in Anesthesiology. For more than 30 years, he was a nurse anesthetist at Eastern Long Island Hospital, as well as Brookhaven Memorial Hospital.

In 1992, Ken and Angie moved to California. For the next 20 years he worked at Biggs Gridley Hospital. This past June, after over 60 years of putting people “2 Sleep,” Ken retired.

Ken was very active on the Pastoral Council at his church, St. Isidore’s in Yuba City. He was instrumental in having the memorials of the Stations of the Cross set outside his church.

Ken is survived by his wife, Angie; two sons, Greg and David Rishe of Greenport; and three daughters, Kimberly Rishe of California, Karen Mayberry of Tennessee and Amy Rishe of Colorado. Ken had two grandsons, Marc and Kevin Rishe of Greenport, and one granddaughter, Reanna Mayberry of Tennessee.

He is also survived by his brother Allen, his sister-in-law, Jane, and two sisters, Marie Craven and Elaine Craig. Ken was predeceased by his parents and a brother.
