Shelter Island man charged with DWI in Greenport

Shelter Island resident Thomas Verity, 45, was arrested and charged with DWI after he was stopped for failing to use his turn signal while driving in Greenport Sunday night, according to Southold Town Police.

Police said Mr. Verity was driving on Third Street just before 9:30 p.m. when his vehicle was stopped.

Mr. Verity was also ticketed for failing to use his turn signal and driving without a valid license, said police. He was taken to headquarters and held overnight for arraignment.
