The Greenport Village Board will hold a special meeting at the Third Street firehouse at 5 p.m. Thursday.

The board is expected to vote on a contract to install parking meters downtown and to set a public hearing to discuss piercing the state’s new 2 percent tax increase cap for this year’s budget.

Those items include the North Fork Chamber of Commerce’s permit request to use a portion of Mitchell Park for its third annual art show and a $4,500 contract to hire Christine Thorpe as an outside consultant for the Tall Ships event.
